Rodrigo Gaya Villar is a Miami-based documentary and editorial photographer with twenty years of work across editorial portraiture, gallery and exhibition documentation, live music, and long-form photographic projects.
Born in Florida to Mexican parents, Rodrigo spent five years living in Mexico City — an experience that shaped both his visual approach and his debut monograph, Vochos Unidos, published by Carrara Media in 2026. The book documents VW Beetle culture across Mexico and has been called "a visual road trip through Mexico and the unstoppable human spirit" by Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer Patrick Farrell.
His editorial work has appeared in WWD, Harper's Bazaar, The New York Times Style Magazine: México, The Art News, Fraction Magazine, and Ocean Drive Magazine. He has photographed for KDR Gallery, WYN317, YoungArts, Sony Music Miami, Nahmias, Sporty & Rich, Paycom, and over 100 additional clients across Miami, New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico City.
Currently based in Miami. Available for editorial, commercial, and gallery commissions. Last minute calls welcome — booking@rodrigogaya.com
